RECONCILIATION UNDER GST

  Reconciliation is a very familiar term that comes into contact to a Businessman again and again. Any Taxpayer who is doing any type of Business has to go through reconciliation procedure. Every Taxpayer and Businessman know that reconciliation means error free books of Accounts and tallying or matching the data of one book with the other is termed as reconciliation. Reconciliation can be done of any books of Accounts or of anything and at any stage.   Reconciliation under GST means the reconciliation of Taxes paid or payable at different stages by the taxpayer. We know that when reconciliation of Accounts of books are done there are two set of books, one is of yours and the other is of the vendor that needs to be matched for errors and differences.   Likewise, under GST Reconciliation there are returns that need to be reconciled with each other. SOME OF THE PROVISIONS THAT CAME INTO EFFECT FROM 01.01.2021 & CAN LEAD TO CANCELLATION OF GST REGISTRATION OF TAXPAYER

  With the latest update of GST came on 02.01.2021, the taxpayers have to be now more precise and alert in filing their returns as there are many hard changes that has came into effect from 01.01.2021 Claim of ITC has been reduced from 120% to 105% of GSTR 2B. A proper officer can cancel GSTIN of  a taxpayer if the taxpayer has availed ITC more than 105% of GSTR 2B in any month. A proper officer can cancel GSTIN of a taxpayer if the Tax paid in GSTR 3B is less than the tax payable in GSTR 1 for any month, means if the outward supply of GSTR 1 is greater than GSTR 3B then cancellation of GSTIN can be initiated . If a proper officer has initiated the cancellation of GST and he has reasons to believe that the GSTIN has to be suspended of a taxpayer then the opportunity of being heard will no longer be available with the taxpayer. HOW MUCH ITC CAN BE CLAIMED OR WHAT IS THE LIMIT OF CLAIMING ITC AS PER GSTR 2B & GSTR 2A

  This is to brought in notice to every taxpayers that any leniency and ignorance of rules of ITC under GST Act can lead the taxpayers to a serious accusation and cancellation of GSTIN. Before there was no restrictions of claiming ITC as to what amount or proportion of ITC a taxpayer is claiming on the basis of the invoices they have. Before the taxpayers were allowed to claim ITC against all those invoices that are with them either visible in the GSTR 2A or in physical copy, which means that if any invoices that were not in GSTR 2A and the taxpayer claiming of having the hard copy of GST Invoice were allowed to claim ITC against that invoices(Not in GSTR 2A) also. But, now things has been changed a lot and at present the taxpayers can claim ITC with limits. GSTR 3B VS GSTR 1 & ITC COMPARISON SHEET

Outward Supply and ITC Comparison Sheet is a sheet that shows the difference of outward supplies filed in GSTR 1 VS GSTR 3B and the difference between your claimed ITC in GSTR 3B vs ITC in GSTR 2B. Usually the ITC Comparison sheet was visible in the Return Dashboard next to GSTR 2A, but after introduction of GSTR 2B the ITC Comparison sheet is no longer can be accessed from return dashboard. Here are the Steps from where you can access the ITC Comparison sheet easily. Go to www.gst.gov.in Login with your credentials. Click on Services next to Dashboard on the top bar Click on Returns next to ledgers from the drop down menu In the drop down menu right hand side you can see Tax liabilities & ITC comparison sheet. WHAT IS QRMP SCHEME UNDER GST

  QRMP scheme means Quarterly Return Monthly Payment scheme which is an optional scheme and the name itself says that under this scheme you have to make payment of tax monthly but details of tax Return can be filled quarterly. Any taxpayer whose turnover does not exceeds or is upto  ₹ 5 crore has to file their GSTR 1/4 and GSTR 3B on quarterly basis with effect from 01.01.2021. Monthly payments under QRMP scheme are to be done in FORM GST PMT - 06 by every 25th of the succeding month. Now let us get to know QRMP scheme more in detail.
